US number for WhatsApp
An American (+1) number for WhatsApp. Your contacts see a US number, and the code comes to your Bitcall panel.
WhatsApp numbers
Register WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business with a real mobile number, not a VoIP line WhatsApp doesn't support. The 6-digit code usually lands in your Bitcall panel within seconds of WhatsApp sending it, and a one-time number is refunded automatically if no code comes.

One code, or the number for as long as you rent it
WhatsApp asks for a new code when you move to a new phone or reinstall the app. Choose the number that matches how long you'll use the account.
A temporary number for WhatsApp, yours for about 20 minutes: long enough to receive the code.
WhatsApp asks for a new codeIt can't reach you
Good for a quick sign-up. Don't count on it for a code WhatsApp sends later.
Keep the same number for your rental term and get its SMS in your panel, including the codes WhatsApp sends later.

Before you pick a number
Most failed WhatsApp verifications come down to the kind of number, not the code.
Numbers from calling apps and many virtual-number services are VoIP lines, and WhatsApp doesn't support VoIP numbers: the number is refused or the code never arrives. Bitcall's WhatsApp numbers are real mobile SIM numbers.
Free receive-SMS sites show every message to everyone, so anyone can read your code and take the account. Their numbers are shared by many people and are often already blocked by WhatsApp.
If WhatsApp asks for a new code and the number is gone, you may be locked out, unless you added an email address to your WhatsApp account. For an account you'll keep, rent the number.

Troubleshooting
What each message means and what to do about it.
| What you see | Why it happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The code never arrives | WhatsApp can be slow to send it, or may not accept that number. | Wait for the timer and ask once more. No code before the order ends means an automatic refund: take another number. |
| WhatsApp says the number isn't valid or isn't supported | WhatsApp doesn't accept that kind of number, as with VoIP and app numbers. | Pick another number, or a higher-quality one. |
| A countdown before you can ask again | Too many code requests, or wrong codes entered, for the same number. | Wait for the countdown, or take a new number instead of retrying. |
| The code won't come to a number from another country | Your connection and the number are in different countries. | Before you request the code, turn on a VPN set to the number's country, as the Bitcall panel advises. |
| It keeps failing after an earlier try | Data left over from the earlier attempt, such as cookies or the app's cache. | Clear cookies (or the app's cache) or use a private window, then start again with a new number. |
| WhatsApp asks for a code again weeks later | A new phone or a reinstall. | Only a number you still have can receive it. Rent the number for accounts you keep, and add an email address to your WhatsApp account. |
| WhatsApp offers to call you instead | It offers a call when the SMS hasn't arrived in time. | Stay with SMS: your Bitcall panel shows the text messages the number receives. |

Straight answers before you buy
No. WhatsApp needs a phone number that receives its verification code. It doesn't have to be your personal number: a virtual number from Bitcall works, and your own number stays private.
No. A fake number is made up or public and doesn't work. A Bitcall number is a real mobile SIM number that receives WhatsApp's SMS, and while it's yours, no other customer can read its messages.
Free receive-SMS sites exist, but every message on them is public and their numbers are shared by many people, so they're often blocked by WhatsApp and anyone can read your code. Bitcall numbers start at $0.50, and a one-time number is refunded if the code doesn't arrive.
Yes, if you rent it. A one-time number is yours for about 20 minutes: enough to register, but not to receive a code WhatsApp asks for later. A rented number stays yours for the rental term and receives its SMS (up to 25 a day), so later WhatsApp codes reach you. Auto-renew works on numbers that can be extended.
Yes. The WhatsApp Business app verifies a number with an SMS code the same way as WhatsApp, so the same numbers work. If you use both apps, each needs its own number. For a business account, rent the number so it stays yours. Telegram needs its own number too: see virtual numbers for Telegram.
US, UK and Indian numbers, plus Canadian, German, South African, Pakistani, Australian and Italian numbers, and more. The panel shows which countries have WhatsApp numbers right now, with their prices.
From $0.50 for a one-time verification, up to $2.00 for higher-quality numbers. There's no subscription: you top up and pay per number. Rentals are priced by the rental term and renew only if you turn on auto-renew.
If no code arrives before a one-time order ends, your balance is refunded automatically, and you can take another number straight away.
Usually within seconds of WhatsApp sending it. It shows up in your Bitcall panel as soon as the number receives it.
You can use a second number if you follow WhatsApp's Terms of Service, which expect a number you own and keep using. For an account you'll keep, rent the number. Bitcall does not support spam, fraud or bulk sign-ups.
Real US, UK and Indian mobile numbers from $0.50. One-time numbers are refunded if the code doesn't arrive.
